Instead of having a specific wedding favor, would it be ok to have a bunch of hersey kisses?

Aw i love the idea! Yummy!
    Congrats!

I think you can make that work just fine… if people will be absent-mindedly munching on them plan on several for each guest :)

I am also planning a wedding and i think its a fine idea.
try and do different things with them like putting them in diffeent bowls and pretty containers. Hershey kisses are a nice color and they also have different flavors and colors. So you can do something with that!
congrats and have fun thats all that counts

Ok there’s not even any need to have favors. These people are coming to help you celebrate a wonderful day! They shouldn’t be expecting anything other than happy memories. Weddings are expensive enough as it is, without having to worry about what to give your guests. But if you really want to look into that I suggest checking out orientaltrading.com

At my wedding I just had little cloth bags of mints and nuts, and that worked out well. With candy most people are pleased, and everyone likes Hershey’s kisses. It’s also inexpensive too. You should, however, send out thank you notes after the wedding to guests who give you gifts, as an extra little thank you. People appreciate the extra time you put in to say thank you.

I’ve never been to a wedding where they get a specific favor that’s useful to each person. What a pain that would be!! I did, however, go to two different weddings where everyone got a little box filled with m&m’s. One wedding did white and silver m&m’s (their wedding colors) and the other wedding had red and white. You can order them online and you can even have messages written on them now. But hershey kisses sound great too! It’s nice for guests to have something to munch on when they first arrive and are waiting for the wedding party to arrive and for dinner to be served.

Other weddings I’ve been to have given little mugs with their names and wedding date or fancy boxes filled with drink mixes and chocolate. I think the hershey kisses sound fantastic! A candy buffet will be more of a pain I think, you’ll probably have to buy a lot more and have a lot left over. I doubt there will be people at your wedding who are opposed to eating a hershey kiss (unless they’re lactose intolerant or something).

Edible favours are always a winner as far as I’m concerned. The last thing I want is another shot glass, burnt cd, or pack of playing cards,

great idea! and if you can get a really nice presentation for them, you can use them as your centerpieces too!

    good idea..
im thinking im going to have some mint chocolate in a bowl …but also im doing personalized jones not so much for favors but I thinks itsa cool idea…but i like your idea too..

Aw, I think a candy buffet is a great idea!! You can have a BUNCH of Kisses, and supplement the favor table with other candies, like Starburst, Tootsie Rolls, jelly beans, M&Ms, gumballs, etc. You can make the focus on the kisses, but you should have other stuff too. Here are some great candy buffet pics that might persuade you to reconsider having a candy buffet:

On a side note, these are some really awesome centerpieces if you want to tie in the candy theme even further:

Someone above mentioned not having favors at all and I just want to strongly advise against that. With a wedding as big as your’s it’s a financially smart idea to skip out on favors, but it’ll be VERY noticed and it’s pretty tacky.

I don’t think anyone would miss it if you skipped the favors altogether. if you put out candy or something edible, they’re eaten and forgotten before dinner is even served, trust me. just set out a candy buffet at the end of the reception so people can take a bag as they leave, or they can forget it if they don’t like candy. I went to a wedding in Feb. that had a candy bar and they put out little colored paper bags with the bride and groom’s monogram initials printed on them. but they’re disposable so it’s not like that’s something guests are going to cherish for posterity.

    Sounds good to me.
I myself would prefer something edible and hershey kisses is the way to go.

I’ve seen versions of Hershey kiss favors at several weddings…the cute little saying to go with them is “a spoonful of /cup full of/please enjoy these kisses from the new Mr. and Mrs.”

Sweet treats are always an appreciated (not to mention easy and inexpensive) favor.
