I’m doing a “Spoonful of Kisses from the Mr and Mrs.” They are pretty cute.

    Plastic Spoon
    Tulle Netting
Ribbon in the same color as the wedding
    3-5 Hershey Kisses
Phrase Tag (A spoonful of …………..)

Put the kisses in the bowl of the spoon wrap with tulle netting and tie with favor tags and personalized ribbons.

Well, this is not unique but everyone likes the little bubbles container. You can personalize it with ribbons with your names and wedding date on it.

My daughter had beautiful lace hankies made up with her and her husband’s initial embroider on them. They put them in a beautiful crystal tissue box. Guest, as they entered the chapel, would take one. The guest loved it. I have a lot more idea, if you are interested. This idea was not expensive. The hankies were bought in bulk off the Internet, and we took them to a private company to do the initialing. It ran about 50c a hankie. The crystal tissue box was bought at “Bed, Bath and Beyond” on clearance for $2 dollars. Of course after the wedding she turned the tissue box into a holder for her home. If you want other ideas, just email me.

    Unique favors received at weddings:
    - CD with favorite/popular love songs
    - set of chopsticks (Asian wedding)
    - wine bottle stopper
    - cork with some quote about love
    - packet of flavored coffee or tea

We’ve received votive candles with the names on them (totally useless, what am I supposed to do with that?), bakalva (yummy. I enjoyed it, but there were about half still left on the table so evidently not everyone did), seeds to plant (we never did, although it seemed nice at the time), candy (everyone enjoyed), CD (we liked this the best. It was their favorite songs and ones with meaning, we still listen to it.). I have to disagree with some of the prior posters, I would never want a rose with their names on it or a hankerchief with someone elses initials on it. but that’s just me….

I’ve had little candy bars with the couple’s name on it, the date, etc.
A CD with the couple’s favorite love songs on it
I also saw a Chocolate Waterfall that you can dip strawberries, etc. in it(really pretty). And I also got the spoon full of kisses with the names attached.

Well, my fiance wanted to incorporate hockey into the wedding, so we looked into personalizing hockey pucks. We got single-colored standard size hockey pucks for $1.03/each (we had to buy 100, but that’s the size of our reception).

The same company personalizes hockey sticks and other hockey stuff, from cheap at a buck each to really elaborate stuff.

I have a friend that went to a wedding and they had a photographer there making picture magnents. You could pose and get your picture.

My boyfriend’s brother and his fiance nixed the favors and instead used the money to adopt/sponsor a boy in Cambodia. There were little frames on each table that explained what they did, and each table had a different purpose — like one table’s card read “The money from your favors bought him school supplies” and the table next to it had a card that read “The money from your favors allowed him to see a doctor when he was sick.” It was a wonderful idea, and everyone complimented them on it. It was a good cause, and not only did it save them tons of time on favors, but I sure as heck didn’t need another chocolate bar or champagne glass with the couple’s name on it.

And you surely can use it for whatever charity that you and your fiance favor the most. It’s a versatile idea.

I do like the charity idea. I never thought of that. How thoughtful.

I gave everyone lottery tickets at my shower. We went to Vegas to get married, so I had a large shower instead of a wedding.
    Big hit;only $1 each!!

I just got home from my cousin’s wedding. There favors were casino style poker chips with their names on one side and “Bet on us” and the date on the other. They had an 1850s theme-the guys wore western style tuxes and the girls (including the bride) wore old fashion gowns with hoop skirts. Instead of flowers the bridesmaids carried parasols.

We had a great time despite the unbearable heat.

I have never received a unique favor at a wedding, it’s always candy wrapped in tulle.

  • Wedding Style posted: 24 Apr at 1:56 am

The most unique ideas are the ones that truly represent the personalities of you as a couple. has a good selection of unique favors and ideas. My favorite is the Moroccan Lantern idea. I also love the Photo Frame Frosted Glass Coasters. These are nice because they are easy to personalize. If you both like to cook you can display your favorite recipes in them or if you travel, perhaps pictures of the places you have been. Get creative and keep it about you as a couple. If you do decide to donate your favors to charity, check out their Favors for Charity Section at Good Luck to you!
