Start with the hotels and locals – they know more about the area and have dealt with destination wedding more often then someone you would take with you!
If you come to a dead end with them, think about taking someone with you – but otherwise, help keep cost down by using who is already there!
Good Luck!

if you hire vendors at home and ask them to travel with you, you’ll have to pay their airfare, hotel and all their meals. that’s crazy. I think you should find vendors in PR to do most things for you. ask your hotel if they have a concierge or hospitality planner to help you, or if they can recommend a list of florists, caterers etc.

The easiest and best thing to do would be to get a local wedding planner. They already know the local market and can get you a photographer and florist, etc. Bringing your own would entail paying for their services, plus their time (the entire time, not just the day), their accommodations and expenses–that would cost an absolute fortune.
We were married in St Thomas and hooked up with a service-they provided the officiant and arranged everything for us-I basically brought my dress and they took care of the rest.
A destination wedding is great, but if you feel you need lots of control over the details, it would probably not be great for you. These types of weddings are best for those brides who don’t want a lot of fuss and who’d prefer to enjoy themselves rather than getting caught up in all the wedding drama.

It would cost too much money to take people with you when there are lots of fantastic wedding photographers in Puerto Rico.
A friend of mine said there are plenty of local wedding photographers and you can ask the hotels to put you in contact with someone.
My friend said that the person who did one of their own friends wedding in Puerto Rico was someone called Jose Febus.
He is a bilingual wedding photographer with a high reputation, and works in all areas of Puerto Rico so he would be great.
Try his website above where you can look through his work catalogue. Apparently he is very good to work with. Alternatively you can search for local photographers on craigslist depending on where you have decided to get married in Puert Rico. However, Jose does work everywhere in Puerto Rico so he woud be a good starting contact.
Good luck!!

O please,
stop adversting you photography services here. Do you think that we haven’t noticed?
What’s next, wait another hour and advertise your business in puerto Rico again??
Advertising is against community guidelines.

Almost all hotels have wedding coordinators, so use their service. They are local and will do everything. Don’t do everything yourself or you are going to stress out and stress everyone around you too.
