Apprentice with a photographer who does weddings. Get a camera so you can take some photos as well, but try to find someone who works for him or herself and see if you can’t get some instructions on the etiquette of taking photos at a wedding. If you have a camera you can take a few photos here and there of things that might be of interest during the ceremony or during the reception. You could provide a helping hand, pick up invaluable experience at no cost to the photographer plus possibly be able to contribute a few of your own photos. You may be able to work something out to get paid for the photos that you take if they are used in the wedding package. If I were going to pursue wedding photography, which I considered at one time, that was my avenue to learn the ropes. It’s honestly just not for me. Best of luck. – Bob

Early start.. do the best you can in school.. Math, all of it.. if they offer business classes take them. Do the art and if offered photography class.
Once your in your last two years of school go work for free of cheep at a studio doing what ever they need done. This will get you in and let you see the rest of the workings of studios. Go to college. Shoot part time for a studio or two as you do so. Get the degree.. does not matter much in what but take business classes and marketing as you do so.
Then when your out and about you will be shooting already and able to see the world fully as you make your own way in our world of images.

Volunteer to be an assistant with a local photographer. Study blogs of photographers you like. Take a art history course and look at as much art and different stlyes as possible. MOst of all, get out your camera and shoot every day and learn the nuances of your camera so you can concentrate on taking pictures not camera settings.

take as many pictures as possible! of your friends at parties everywhere. and always experiment with different lighting situations. Just being observant in everyday life will help you with anticipating peoples emotions and reactions to things. then it will just be second nature
