Probably your best bet would be to get small bags of grits and print sticky labels on the computer. Then just slap the labels onto the bags! Good luck!

My, that is original!! But, I don’t know where you might get special bags of grits. You might look into getting bags printed with the them and putting the grits in yourself.
I moved to NZ and I miss grits! **sigh**

I found this company’s contact information, and their site is below. I don’t know if you can get personalized bags, or not. You may have to get the grits from them and the bags elsewhere.
Maybe Byrd Mill will give you their printer’s name and you can work something out that way.
I found this site – Sassyprints. They have free graphics for bags that may work for your friend. You can also buy graphics there. If they don’t have anything, ask and they might do a design just for your friend.

You can always make this a DIY project by purchasing your own grits and putting it in personalized bags.
Here’s a mini bag you can use:
And here’s how you can dress up the bag above (can’t use mini burlap bags b/c the grits will spill through the holes):

I would definitely just make this a DIY project, depending on the amount of money you want to spend, here are several options:
Bags (www.theknot.com-on sale right now!!)
personalized ribbon
personalized tags
add a little bag of sugar

It would be cute to add butter too, but it probably wouldn’t work.

That’s … unusual. I’m sure it’s never been done before, so I doubt that any wedding supplies joint would have it. However, it wouldn’t be that hard.
You can buy a big sack/box/package of grits, and then fill cake boxes for each guest with the grits. Most wedding supply websites and stores offer personalized bags or cake boxes that are really cute. Get creative!
